The Frankston foreshore is a fantastic place to enjoy the sunset over the city. The foreshore is a great spot to picnic, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and have a romantic night on the town. If you’re a fan of street art and murals, you should go for a walk through the city’s vibrant streets. There are more than 20 mammoth colourful murals on the streets and laneways of Frankston. Frankston’s public art will keep you occupied for hours. Its murals are well-known throughout the city and is free to view or you can go on a guided tour.

The Frankston Street Art Walking Tour is a 1.5-hour walking tour of the city’s streets and laneways discovering the graffiti murals that make Frankston unique. The tour is great for getting the insiders scoop into the stories behind the murals and the lives of the international and local artists who painted them.

At the time of writing, tours cost $15 which include coffee, tea or hot chocolate from a local café. The Frankston city has some great cafes and restaurants many of which are tucked away in Frankston CBD’s cosy streets. Frankston got quite a diverse range of cute coffee shops and funky restaurants. Here’s a few places you might want to visit.

The waterside location of the Frankston Waterfront Restaurant makes it a great place to grab a bite before or after a walk along the Kananook Creek walking trail. The outdoor seating is marvellous on a beautiful sunny day. The kitchen is fresh and uses seasonal ingredients local ingredients. They specialise in modern Australian seafood and steak.

For a casual meal, try the Choego Frankston who specialise in Korean street food and desserts. They’ve got a wide variety of bubble teas and offer dine in, alfresco and takeaway options.

Eeny Meeny on Young St have arguable the best coffee in town and they’ve got great vibes. They have a cool little semi outdoor eating area down the back which is also protected from the wind and rain. Commonfolk Frankston on the Nepean highway is also another great café which serves organic and Fairtrade coffee in their laid back café also with great vibes. They have a very generous big breakfast so if you’re into good food and good coffee definitely check out Commonfolk.

 

Best things to do in Frankston CBD

At first glance there may not seem like a great deal to do in Frankston CBD but if you walk around the CBD with curiosity you’ll find some truly hidden gems. Frankston also has many other great attractions such as parks, nature reserves, and shopping centres. Frankston is also conveniently located just a short drive to some fantastic spots on the Mornington Peninsula making it a great place to base yourself for a holiday.
